Sellers' Valuation Expectations Too High in Over Half of Southern European Deal Processes
In over half of Southern European M&A transactions (53%), advisors report that sellers' valuation expectations are too high, a gap that averages 26% and breaks the deal in 38% of those cases, the highest deal-breaking rate of any Dealsuite region to date. At the same time, sentiment is strengthening, with 92% of advisors now optimistic about H2-2026. These are key findings from the latest edition of the Dealsuite Southern Europe M&A Monitor, based on input from 119 M&A advisory firms active in the Southern European mid-market (companies with revenues between €1 million and €200 million).

Sellers' Valuation Expectations Too High in Nearly Half of CEE Deal Processes
Nearly half of CEE M&A transactions (47%) involve sellers whose valuation expectations are too high, a gap that averages 28% and breaks the deal in 35% of those cases, the highest deal-breaking rate of any Dealsuite region to date. At the same time, sentiment is at a fresh high, with 92% of advisors now optimistic about H2-2026. These are key findings from the latest edition of the Dealsuite CEE M&A Monitor, based on input from 107 M&A advisory firms active in the CEE mid-market (companies with revenues between €1 million and €200 million).
Sellers' Valuation Expectations Too High in Nearly Half of UK&I Deal Processes
Nearly half of UK&I M&A transactions (49%) involve sellers whose valuation expectations are too high, a gap that averages 23% and breaks the deal in 24% of those cases. At the same time, buyer competition is intensifying, with an average of 8.5 serious buyers per company for sale, up from 7.9 a year earlier. These are key findings from the latest edition of the Dealsuite UK&I M&A Monitor, based on input from 102 M&A advisory firms active in the UK&I mid-market (companies with revenues between £1 million and £200 million).
