Your challenge

As the Marketing Director, you are responsible for scaling up and pushing our growth in Europe and pivoting the sales & marketing organisation from a predominantly outbound to a blended outbound/inbound organisation. You are leading the marketing team, as well as acting as an individual contributor. You understand the importance of working at the hip of your sales team to generate a steady, growing stream of leads each and every month and are not afraid to hold a “commit”. You think of new, innovative ways to impact the market and lead by example.

The marketing team currently consists of 4 full-time in-house marketeers: a Digital Marketing Manager, a Campaign Manager, a Content Marketer, and a Junior Marketeer. A part-time Analyst plus additional support in the form of freelance content writers and designers and an in-house UX designer are also at your disposal. You will report directly to the Chief Commercial Officer.

Who are you?

The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with business stakeholders, is a self-driven individual, responsive, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing roles, of which 3+ years B2B marketing, ideally SaaS
  • 2+ years of proven experience in a team leadership or people management role
  • 2+ years of direct, hands-on experience managing paid media (search, display, social), or Marketing Automation either at an agency or in-house
  • Proficiency in paid media advertising (LinkedIn, Google Ads, SEM, Programmatic, Native)
  • Proficiency in CRM (Hubspot) and other third-party marketing tools
  • Analytical and data-driven thinking, able to translate into tangible actions
  • Thorough understanding of performance marketing metrics and reporting standards and a track record of proven business results
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate and collaborate with team members as well as senior management and sales teams
  • Creative and independent problem solver who can juggle many tasks and thrive in a startup environment
  • Fluent in English
  • Available for 40 hours per week

Key responsibilities

  • Team leadership: Lead by example, own the marketing budget, and dare to challenge sales. Help the team to the next level.
  • Set challenging but achievable lead targets for yourself and the team and drive the team towards delivering against these.
  • Develop and execute (with the team) end-to-end marketing strategies to acquire new users, and continually engage and retain them throughout their lifecycle.
  • Build, execute, and optimise effective cross-channel digital campaigns with the team to achieve business objectives and improve user experience
  • Define, measure, and evaluate relevant paid media KPIs and Performance; present the key insights and recommendations to business stakeholders
  • Maintains knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and tools to use and looks at implementing these where relevant
  • Gaining insights into market and customer needs through research
  • Develops marketing staff by providing information and experiential growth opportunities. Maintains marketing staff job results by counseling, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Completes marketing department operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
