Executive Capital

Executive Capital is an investment community for experienced business professionals who wish to invest in small and medium-sized Danish companies. We have typically owned and developed a smaller company into a larger international business ourselves, and therefore have extensive experience with the challenges faced by SMEs.

We invest in healthy, mature companies with revenue in the range of DKK 20-250 million.

We assemble screening/investment teams of 2-3 partners who invest their own funds (we do not have passive investors). We only invest in companies where we have specific expertise that can contribute to the company's value creation.

We typically invest as active minority shareholders (25%-49%) in collaboration with other active minority owners, as we often find it optimal to have several different parties agree on the direction of the company. Usually, management is a key owner. We also invest as majority shareholders when it is appropriate.

We believe that a well-thought-out composition of the ownership group, based on mutual respect and trust, is crucial for creating the best conditions for the company's development and growth.

We collaborate closely with management on organizational development, aiming to scale the business model, internationalize, and reduce dependency on specific individuals, as well as assisting in the prioritization and implementation of strategic and operational improvement areas. We also contribute a vast network.

We are patient regarding the ownership period and do not require an exit within a specific timeframe.

We prioritize genuine value creation over cash flow and financial creativity.

We invest in companies undergoing generational transitions, preparing for sale, and in growth companies that need both capital and expertise to take the business to the next level.

Our secretariat has extensive transaction experience from the advisory industry. They coordinate and advise during the investment phase.

M&A Criteria

Executive Capital is searching for acquisitions in the Industrials, Consumer Goods, Health Care, Business Services, or Technology sector. The ideal target has a minimum revenue of €1M and is located in Denmark. Please contact us for further information.
